Venetian plaster sometimes known as lime plaster is essentially a putty made from fired limestone or marble dust mixed with water. In this beautiful expensive home the homeowners weren t happy with the looks of the dome. Our pastellone is made stronger by adding cement and binders. The floors should be treated with care and good housekeeping is important.

The finish adheres best to a porous substrate and can be installed over correctly prepared plasterboard brick cement board concrete and concrete blocks. As the surface is burnished after application it develops a finish that has the look of genuine marble. The recipe for marmorino floor comes from an antique recipe pastellone veneziano. The client asked us to replace an existing floor that was very light in color easily marked and not rally in keeping with the rest of the house.

The floor can be hand troweled buffed and completed in just a few days. It comes in fine size 200 to 300 µm for marmorino fine and 500µm for marmorino medium and coarse. Pastellone plaster retains the aesthetics of the traditional venetian marmorino for floors while adding the durability that modern day living demands. It is used to impart a natural or rustic feeling to verandas kitchens or hallways to go with stone or brick flooring.

Additionally you can apply pastellone also on walls for a wall2floor continuous surface. Stucco italiano solido floor plaster is a 2 3mm thick cementitious overlay which creates a luxurious natural smooth finish with a mottled look that matures over time. It was dark and felt heavy so in updating their home to a lighter brighter look they asked us what we could do with it. The material can be applied to nearly any interior floor and is suitable for high traffic locations.
